File Encryption to Protect Sensitive Information

The Veltronics Krypton Standalone Desktop supports several methods of file encryption that are flexible, easy-to-use and fully integrated into the operating system via Windows Explorer. Protected folders enable the user to transparently encrypt files by moving them into the folder. Self-extracting encrypted files can be sent to a non-Desktop user and decrypted via a shared passphrase. Files are encrypted using 128-bit RC5® or 56-bit DES or any other worlds leading encryption algorithm.

Public Key Security for the Desktop

The Veltronics Krypton Standalone Desktop is virtually the same Desktop as in the Veltronics krypton Advanced PKI, but the Standalone Desktop does not require the Krypton Security Server for user authentication. Instead, the user authenticates locally using a smart card or software-based credentials. This is ideal for traveling users or for the enterprise that does not desire the infrastructure of the RSA Security Server.
